We sat down with homeowners Hannah and Greg, a Nashville creative couple who moved into their Legacy South home this April. They came to us with a story we hear more than you'd think: two people who were sure homeownership wasn't for them yet, until it was. Here's how it actually happened, in Hannah's words.
You weren't originally looking to buy. Tell us where your head was at.
"Honestly, we thought homeownership happened 35 minutes outside the city, to people who had 20% saved. That was the whole story we told ourselves. My partner and I are the classic zillennial couple. We didn't want new, we wanted character. And we weren't even looking for ourselves. We were hunting for a house to flip, because I didn't believe I could find something I actually wanted to live in at a price that made sense, much less get a loan for it. We assumed we needed that 20% down, which it turns out is one of the biggest myths out there."
So how did you end up finding Legacy South?
"We were just browsing. And then we found you all. I knew the second I walked into the model home. Real quality. Design forward in a way I hadn't seen from any new build. And here's the part I didn't expect: everything I loved about character, the details, the warmth, the sense that a place has a point of view, your choices made it easy to actually get. Closer to the city than we thought we could be. At a price point that felt unheard of."
What made you trust the company enough to move forward?
"The more I researched, the more hooked I got. The values were real. You're actually from here. That mattered to me. Then we went to the January release event and sat down in person with the Legacy team and with Mackenzie Curtis, our lender. That was the thing that changed everything. Being able to call or text Mackenzie or anyone on the team at any point, ask any question, and never once feel stupid for asking. Buying a home is supposed to be intimidating. It just wasn't."
And now?
"We moved this April. And every single day, we still look at each other and go, man, I can't believe we got here. So now I tell everyone I meet.
