Advice from a Local: Nashville is also home to the nation’s largest Kurdish population, so if you happen to be on Nolensville Pike, we recommend stopping by Edessa Restaurant, House of Kabob, or Sulav International Market for some authentic fare.

Nashville weather patterns are nothing short of random! As we write this article, it’s sunny and 43º – tomorrow, it’s supposed to be cloudy with a high of 61º. Residents enjoy warm summers and cold winters, with a little bit of everything in between. Basically, our city gets all four seasons… but you may experience many of them in the same week.
3. Bring Your Own Car
Tennessee is made up of a collection of winding rural roads and sprawling cities. Because of this, public transit isn’t often used by locals. If you’re moving from a place like Chicago or New York City, it’s probably best to budget for the purchase of a car.
Advice from a Local: It’s easy to avoid Nashville traffic by taking side roads or leaving before rush hour.
4. The Nashville Sports Scene is Thriving
As more people moved to Nashville, they brought serious demand for sports franchises. Music City is now home to a host of teams, and the local fan bases are very dedicated. Nashville’s professional sports teams include:
