Nashville Summer Excitement: Your Summer Itinerary Planned

Whether you’re a first-time visitor to Nashville or a proud resident of a newly-built Legacy South home, the vibrant Music City offers a wide range of exciting activities to enjoy during the summer season. From bustling local events to tranquil weekend trips, there’s something to cater to every whim and passion – and you don’t have to go downtown to find them.

The good news is you don’t have to do the research to find these activities; we’ve done it for you! Read on to fill up your summer calendar with fun things to do for all the family.

Sizzling Festivals and Events

Nashville’s summer calendar is brimming with electrifying festivals and events that promise memorable experiences. The RC Cola-MoonPie Festival in Bell Buckle, a delightful town an hour’s drive from East Nashville, celebrates the South’s beloved fast food duo with games, a parade, and–unusually–a ten-mile run!

For music lovers, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester is an annual four-day extravaganza featuring a diverse lineup of musical performances, arts showcases, and activities. Located just over an hour from East Tennessee, you can easily make the trip for one day, return over multiple days, or make a weekend out of it and stay on the campsite or elsewhere locally. While this event will likely be enjoyed best by older children, it is an all-ages event, and kids under 10 get in free. They recommend bringing good ear protection for your kiddos.

Of course, the Tennessee State Fair is a family favorite that’s not to be missed. Taking place in Wilson County about 35 minutes from East Nashville, the State Fair will take place from August 17th through 26th this year (2023) and features all the things we love about state fairs, such as farming and horticultural competitions and exhibits, pageants, food competitions, live music, 20 little-kid friendly rides, 19 rides suitable only for those over 3’5 tall, and 19 rides that aren’t for the faint of heart!

Unveiling Nashville’s Hidden Gems

Embrace the Nashville lifestyle by exploring its hidden gems. Venture to the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens for an artistic stroll amidst its lush botanic gardens, sculpture trails, and captivating art exhibits. Closer to home, the Lane Motor Museum is a fascinating place for parents and children alike, whether you’re into cars or not.

If your Legacy South home is in one of our communities like Hamlet at Carothers Crossing, you’re in the perfect position to enjoy the abundance of local parks. For instance, Radnor Lake State Park is a haven for nature lovers, offering scenic hiking trails and a rich diversity of wildlife. The trail around the lake is accessible and 1.35 miles long, so not too long for a family walk, especially if you bring a picnic!

Easy Weekend Escapes

Tennessee has more history and beauty than you can see in a lifetime, so why not plan a short getaway to one of the charming towns near Nashville to make the most of it? Just a short drive away, Franklin offers a picturesque historic downtown district, antique shopping, and the beautiful Harlinsdale Farm, a renowned venue for local events. The farm offers 200 acres of walking trails, a pond for fishing, an equestrian trail, and polo matches.

For water enthusiasts, Percy Priest Lake is an ideal spot for boating, fishing, and relaxing by the water’s edge. With the comfort of knowing your Legacy South home requires minimal maintenance, you can unwind and enjoy your weekend escapades without worrying about your to-do list at home.

Make Your 4th of July Shine in Nashville

On the 4th of July, Nashville shines with an array of festivities. While downtown hosts a spectacular fireworks display in the evening with music from country music stars (all for free), you can also partake in other exciting events such as the Hot Chicken Festival, an annual tradition that honors Nashville’s unique culinary delight. The festival takes place from 11 AM to 3 PM, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy any other 4th of July plans you have.

The beauty of residing in a Legacy South home is the promise of being a part of Nashville’s vibrant community, both when you’re venturing downtown or traveling further afield. Whether you’re savoring the distinctive lifestyle within your own neighborhood or venturing out to experience the city’s cultural attractions, your Nashville journey starts at the doorstep of your Legacy South home. And what better time to celebrate the joy of this journey than the bright, exuberant Nashville summer? Contact us to talk learn more about making a Legacy South home your own.
