2,500 Pieces of Clothing Are Coming to Taylor This Weekend
Second Story Clothing Club holds its first swap on Saturday, August 29 at Taylor, and Legacy South is proud to be sponsoring it.
Here is the count as of this week: more than 2,500 items already registered for the racks. Every RSVP adds ten more.
That is the part that still gets us. A clothing swap that started as an idea between two people who love clothes has turned into a few thousand garments, a nonprofit partner, three local vendors, and a Saturday morning in one of our East Nashville communities.

The basics
Saturday, August 29 · 9am to 1pm Taylor, a Legacy South community 3404 Conviser Drive, Nashville, TN 37207
Friday, August 28 · 3 to 8pm — drop-off night Drop-off only. Hand over your bags, the team counts them in, you leave with your tickets. Everything gets sorted by size and racked overnight so the whole thing is ready to shop at nine.
Coffee and mimosas are on us. RSVP here — it's required to drop off.
How you get in
One ticket equals one item, and every ticket comes from a donation instead of a sale.
Donate ten items → ten tickets. Ten things you'd let a friend borrow: clean, stain free, no undergarments, on your own hangers. Intake caps at fifteen per person, and items have to come in Friday. No drop-offs on the day of.
Donate at the door → five tickets. Didn't drop off? Scan the QR code at the door and give ten dollars to Nashville Rescue Mission for five tickets.
Work a shift → ten tickets, or five. A full Saturday earns ten. A single Friday shift earns five. Pick yours when you RSVP.
No early access and no holds. Every rack is fair game at 9am, first come, first served.
Where the money goes
Straight to Nashville Rescue Mission, a Nashville nonprofit that has spent decades serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in this city with meals, shelter, clothing, and recovery programs.
Every entry donation goes to them through their own page. Every piece left on the racks at the end of the day goes to them too. Nobody at the swap ever handles the money.
Vendors joining us
Small local businesses popping up for the morning. Shop them while you swap.
Cherry Picked — Sustainable consignment out of East Nashville, with a curated shoppable rack set up inside one of the model homes.
Whit's Wheels Coffee — Canned coffee and matcha, on site all morning to keep the racks moving.
Auraclelinks — Permanent and handmade jewelry. Get zapped into something you keep.

Why we're sponsoring this
We build houses. We are not in the resale fashion business. So when this landed on our desk, the honest reaction was: yes, immediately, please fill this place with people.
A community like Taylor is built to be lived in, and a model home spends a lot of its life quiet and waiting. Every so often something comes along that treats it like an actual neighborhood instead of a showroom. This is one of those things.
We said yes because it's a genuinely good Nashville morning, not a marketing exercise in an event costume. Because Jess and Hannah built something people want to show up for, and we happen to have the space to open up. Because a few thousand garments staying out of a landfill is a better use of a Saturday than almost anything we could have planned instead. And because the money goes to Nashville Rescue Mission, which serves this city every day of the year, not just the day we throw a party.
