Summer in Nashville is always buzzing with excitement, and 2024 is no exception. From festivals and concerts to unique attractions, weve rounded up the best events happening in July, August, and September, along with some year-round highlights you shouldnt miss.

July Highlights

Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th: Kick off your July with one of the nations largest Independence Day celebrations. “Let Freedom Sing!” features live music, a massive fireworks display synchronized to the Nashville Symphony, and plenty of family-friendly activities downtown​.

Nashville Scene’s Burger Week: On the week of July 8 through July 13 is Burger Week, and this year is the 10 year anniversary of this event. For one week only, Nashville is transformed into a burger-lovers dream with 50+ restaurants participating in bringing you unique culinary experiences at jaw-dropping prices.

Under the Stars Concert Series at Cheekwood: Enjoy a magical night with “Jazz Under the Stars” on July 19 at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will headline, offering a high-energy blend of jazz, funk, and R&B. Bring a blanket and savor the music under the night sky with local food trucks and beverages available​​.

August Highlights

Tomato Art Fest: Held in East Nashville, this quirky and beloved festival on August 9 & 10 celebrates the tomato with a range of activities including art shows, live music, a parade, and delicious tomato-themed food​.

Songwriters Under the Stars: Experience top Nashville songwriters in an intimate setting at Cheekwood’s Swan Lawn from August 23-25. Hear the stories behind the hits from Wendell Mobley, Kelly Archer, and Lee Thomas Miller, accompanied by the Music City Symphony​.

Music City Brewers Fest: On Saturday August 24 at the Walk of Fame Park youll find the Music City Brewers Fest, where admission will include a souvenir cup you can use to taste from all 40+ breweries serving beer, seltzers, spirits, ciders, as well as alcohol alternatives. Of course, there will also be live music, games, food trucks, and more, all in benefit of the Nashville Humane Association. Get your ticket here.

September Highlights

Bluegrass Under the Stars: On September 6, enjoy a night of bluegrass music with legendary musician Sam Bush at Cheekwood. The event features performances by the Davidson County String Band and other talented artists​​.

Nashville Fair: From September 6 through September 15, head to Nashville Fair to enjoy classic fair activities and attractions that celebrate farming, craftsmanship, music, and much more. Tickets are available from July 1.

Music City Grand Prix: September 13-15, downtown Nashville transforms into a racetrack for the Music City Grand Prix. This thrilling event combines IndyCar racing with live music and food, creating a unique festival atmosphere.

Americana Music Festival & Conference: From September 17-21, immerse yourself in the heart of Americana music with showcases, panels, and parties at various venues across downtown Nashville. This festival attracts music lovers from all over the world, so its an exciting place to spend the weekend.

Year-Round Attractions

Ryman Auditorium: Known as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman offers tours and hosts concerts year-round, making it a must-visit for any music enthusiast. Catch a live show or take a daytime tour to learn about its storied history​​.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum: Explore the rich history of country music through interactive exhibits and artifacts. The museum is open daily and offers a comprehensive look at the genre’s evolution and its legendary artists​​.

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens: Previously the family home of the Cheek family, this 1930s estate provides plenty of space to explore – 30,000 square feet of mansion and 55 acres of gardens, to be exact. While there are events here throughout the summer, you can visit at any time to explore the gardens, walk the 1.5 mile woodland trail and see Thomas Dambos Trolls, and take part in other family activities.

Puttshack: Looking for something to do on a burning hot or wet summer day? Head inside to the Puttshack for a round of mini golf. Not only do they have a bright and exciting course to explore, but the food they serve is great, too.

New Addition: Oracle Headquarters

While not an event” in the sense that youll need to get a ticket, an event thats set to happen soon and will impact Nashville is the significant addition of the new Oracle headquarters near Maple Grove. Scheduled to open in the coming years, this sprawling campus is set to become the world hub for the tech giant, bringing thousands of jobs and fostering economic growth in the area. The development includes modern office spaces, green areas, and amenities designed to integrate seamlessly with Nashville’s vibrant culture.
